Dear Silver Springs School Parents and Guardians,

As the year comes to a close, this season reminds us to pause, reflect on the past year, and embrace the opportunities of a new one. As we prepare to conclude 2024 and enjoy the winter holiday, I want to take a moment to share my heartfelt gratitude with each of you who makes Silver Springs School such a special place to learn and grow together.

To our staff—teachers and support staff—thank you for your unwavering dedication, for bringing the curriculum to life, and for fostering the caring and inclusive learning community that makes our school so vibrant.

To our parents and families, your support is invaluable. Your volunteerism, generosity, and trust in us with your most precious gifts—your children—are at the heart of our shared success.

To our incredible students, I am so proud of your curiosity, creativity, and kindness. Each of you contributes to the strong sense of belonging we treasure at Silver Springs School. Your hard work, smiles, and enthusiasm truly make every day meaningful.

A special note of gratitude to all who contributed to our Food Bank and Stuff-a-Sock initiatives. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to donate over 350 items/ 422 pounds of food to The Calgary Food Bank and fill 100 Socks for The Mustard Seeding, including over $400 dollars of gift cards and many extra items.

I also want to express deep appreciation to our School Council and especially to Michelle Downey and Erin Benner for organizing this year’s Santa’s Workshop. We were overwhelmed by the incredible donations of gently used gifts and the dedication of our parent volunteers who sorted, wrapped, and organized this event with care. The joy this initiative brought to our students, and the thoughtful presents they selected for you, was truly heartwarming.

As we enter this holiday season, I hope each of you finds time for joy, rest, and cherished moments with family and friends. We look forward to all the opportunities the new year will bring and to seeing our Silver Springs community come together again on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Wishing you a safe, restful, and joyous holiday season.

With gratitude,

Michelle Ryskamp, Principal, Silver Springs School
