Silver Springs School is a small K-6 elementary school located in the northwest community of Silver Springs.  Our students, staff and school community share the responsibility of building a safe, positive, inclusive, equitable and welcoming learning environment. We are committed to a unified CBE culture of inclusion which includes our CBE-wide approach to preventing bullying.

The school is adjacent to beautiful Bowmont Park and is within a block of the Birthplace Forest. We regularly take students on the land to develop core routines, integrate land-based learning, and teach inquiry skills for learning and life.

In recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day, and in alignment with the CBE Education Plan, Silver Springs School acknowledges and supports the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s (TRC) Calls to Action.

Silver Springs School has a before and after school Daycare Program called Topp Kids. Information about availability can be found here.

The school student council continues to be an excellent group of parents who support various initiatives that support literacy, mathematics, critical thinking, Physical Education, and well-being. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month.

School Development Plan

Each year, our school prepares a development plan with input from teachers, school staff, students and parents. We review many sources of data, including report cards, provincial achievement test results and school surveys. Based on this information, we create our plan identifying targeted areas for growth. Our school development plan is not meant to represent all of the work that takes place in our school, but rather it focuses on specific areas for improvement.

School Improvement Results Report

Our school also prepares a results plan, which looks at our previous school year. It shows our students’ achievement and progress in meeting the goals and outcomes as set out by the CBE and Alberta Education, outlines some of the highlights of our school development plan and gives an overview of our school. You can look on the CBE website for system-wide results.
