March 20-21, 2025 Parent-Teacher Conferences will be ONLINE
We would like to share an important update with you about our School Conference Schedule for Thursday March 20 from 4:00 to 7:30 pm and Friday March 21 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. With the strike by CUPE Local 40 members limiting access to schools after hours, these conferences will now be online for all CBE Schools. This means that the format will not be Student Led Conferences but will be a one-on-one conversation with your child's teacher through a TEAMS online meeting. Conference times will be scheduled for every 15 minutes with one family per time slot during the time listed above.
The Conference schedule will be open for families to book time slots at 4:30 Thursday March 6 and will close on midnight on Wednesday March 19. Sign in to Power School to do book your time slot. You should have already received an email reminder from the system.

Once you book your scheduled time slot, you will receive an email with a URL LINK for the online meeting with your child's teacher. Please save this for March 20/21.
Fort Day on Monday March 17, 2025
Our “Fort Day” will be held on Monday March 17, 2025, which is also St. Patrick’s Day, so don’t forget to wear your green! Classes will work with the Buddy Groups to make blanket forts in the Learning Commons and then enjoy them afterwards by doing buddy reading! I have not seen this before so I can’t wait to see kids enjoying reading in a special way!

I got to see my first Wonder Day today, and the kids seemed so excited and loved the day! I have posted up some photos on Instagram for you to take a look!
Welcome to Our New Administrative Secretary!
We have hired a new Administrative Secretary for our Office, and I would like to welcome Mrs. Donna Cinnamon to Silver Springs School. I think she will be an amazing fit for our school and will be a great fit for our team! We are hoping that she will start with us in the middle of April, and I am just waiting to confirm the specific date.

Silver Springs School's BIGGEST fundraiser is coming up on May 7 & 8 - our casino at Pure Casino! We need lots of volunteers to make sure this casino goes smoothly and we raise as much as possible for the school and students! Sign up to volunteer here.:
