Happy start of March tomorrow! This weather is so amazing, but I know we will probably pay for it at some point with another blast of winter. For the moment though, my plan is to get out in the sun this weekend!
It is hard to believe, but I have already been at Silver Springs School for over a month! After a month, I am seeing a true community school with and amazing community of students and families, wonderful volunteers, a stupendous School Council and Parent Association, and a staff of absolutely phenomenal people who are all here to support students in their learning, growth and development at school. It is, honestly, my absolute honour to be the Principal at Silver Springs.
Our Pink Shirt Day assembly this week was so awesomely great! I do love our motto of “Work hard, learn lots, and be kind to those around you!” I think we all need to live by this, but it does not mean any of us are perfect. I dealt with a few issues between students this week, and a big part of our motto is helping them to learn to live these things, but not that there will not be slip ups along the way... As parents and teachers, we will help them learn from their mistakes and become better at working hard, learning lots, and being kind!
