Dear SS Parents and Guardians,
At this time, the CBE is preparing for an Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) strike beginning on Monday, Oct. 6. Here is what this means for CBE families:
- All classes for students will be cancelled. Do not send your child to school.
- Transportation will be cancelled. Do not leave your child at a bus stop.
Please go to the CBE labour action page for all updates. Any significant changes will be communicated via email to families.
This has been such a surreal day for all of our staff and for all of our students as well. I am a lifelong educator and believe in the work we do for students, to help them become the best human beings and citizens they can be. I hope this will be short, but please have your kids read, journal, draw, play outside, and be social. Lastly, thank you for all the treats and support, and know that from all of our teachers we can’t wait to be back as soon as possible... And I got SOOOOOOO many hugs today from students who want to be here so much and DESERVE the best education they can get!!!
Work hard, learn, lots, and be kind to one another!
Educationally yours,
Derek 😊
